Louise Appointed ICT Manager

South Staffordshire Housing Association which manages more than 5,000 homes has appointed Louise Cope as its new ICT manager.

The association has built a national reputation for its expertise and innovation in ICT in the housing sector.

And now Louise is hoping to build on that to further expand the scope of the company’s use of information technology so it is used as an example of good practice for landlords across the country.

“I was aware of South Staffordshire Housing Association’s expertise in ICT as I was involved with them in a benchmarking group a few years ago while I was working with Beth Johnson Housing Association,” said Louise.

“But it is not until now that I have been able to increase my awareness and realise just how forward-thinking they are with ICT. There are lots of systems which have been implemented over the last few years and I need to make sure that we continue to be seen as an innovator in the sector.

“Projects I will be working on over the first few months include implementing an IP telephone system, upgrading to Exchange 2007 and rolling out the PDA scheme to the rest of the repairs workers following the successful pilot.

“It is going to be a busy start to my time here but I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Louise, who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, moved to South Staffordshire Housing Association from a post as head of special projects at Beth Johnson Housing Association. She had been with them since 1996.
