Linkline Community Alarm

For many people living on their own, the telephone is their only means of contact with friends or relatives. But in a crisis it's often difficult to locate or dial the number that will get help. Linkline can solve these problems and provide peace of mind.

If you fall, feel unwell or are in need or help or reassurance, all you need to do is press a button you can be automatically connected to the alarm control centre which is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

If you would like further details of the service please contact us.

Adaptations

The Association undertakes a wide range of adaptations to our properties. In the case of minor adaptations such as grab rails and lever taps you can directly request these by contacting us.

For more major adaptations such as level access showers or the addition of rooms to properties an assessment by an Occupational Therapist is required. An application to the District Council for Disabled Facilities Grant may also be required.

We aim to undertake all adaptation as quickly as we can subject to our budget limits.

For more information please visit our adaptations page.

Supporting People Payments

Housing Benefit only pays for rent and not support charges; tenants eligible for Housing Benefit get their support charges paid from the Supporting People Fund, administered by the Supporting People Team at Staffordshire County Council.

The Association has a contract with the County Council for the provision of these services and is monitored on this. The County Council will review services to ensure that they provide value for money and are meeting needs. Tenants will be involved in these reviews.

Tenants who are not eligible for Housing Benefit will continue to pay their support charges direct to the Association.

Our Older Persons Strategy

This Strategy looks at our organisational aspects of service delivery to older persons and challenges the long established culture and rationale of this service delivery.

The Strategy looks at the plethora of statutory and Government directives, policies, other local and national strategies and guidance. Local supply and demand are investigated and solutions to begin addressing the issues are suggested.
