Rent

Picture of a rent payment card

Paying your rent is an essential part of your tenancy agreement. Your rent is our only source of funds to provide services to you, our tenants. It is very important that we receive your rent on time and we thank the vast majority of tenants who keep up-to-date. If you do not pay your rent you run the risk of losing your home.

Your rent is due on a weekly basis and it is your responsibility to make sure the payments are made on the due day, including if you are receiving housing benefit.

Every tenant needs to pay their weekly rent. Some pay directly out of their wallets, others pay through the Housing Benefit system. Whichever way you pay your rent it is your responsibility to make sure we receive payment.

Service Charges

A service charge means an amount you pay for additional landlord services, such as communal heating and lighting. Services charges may also cover other things like the maintenance of grounds and communal areas or sheltered housing services.

Not all rented properties have services charges linked to them but where they exist they are additional charges over and above the normal rent charge and are payable as part of, or in addition to, the rent.

Leaseholders are required to pay a service charge. Your service charge is the money you pay towards the day-to-day running costs of your block of flats, as well as your share of any major repairs.
