Supported Living
Working within Operations, the Supported Housing Section provides a variety of housing related support services to both Association tenants and private customers.
Sheltered Housing
The Association manages 14 sheltered schemes in South Staffordshire. There are over 630 units in total, the schemes ranging in size from 25 to 64 units. Accommodation includes self contained apartments, flats and bungalows, and communal facilities, such as lounges, kitchen and showers, at most schemes.
Community Alarm Service
There are around 2,900 community alarm customers in total, with 2,100 tenants (including all the sheltered schemes) and approximately 700 private customers. Equipment is both hard wired (in sheltered schemes and most non-sheltered bungalows) and dispersed (private customers and some non-sheltered bungalows).
Aids and Adaptations
The Association currently provides a budget for adaptations that allow tenants to live independently in their homes. There is close liaison with Social Services in order to provide the best solution for each individual.
There are clear and published standards for each service.
Service delivery is undertaken on an area basis by teams of dispersed employees, led by two supervisors.
Employees undertake considerable liaison with other agencies (such as Social Services), carers and family on an individual basis to ensure that independent living is maintained.
