SSHA has launched a new interactive website for people looking for affordable housing for rent in Staffordshire and other areas.
The website gives potential customers the option to see available properties with a photo, map and feature details all at the touch of a button, at a time that suits them.
By simply logging on, potential customers are now able to apply online and if accepted onto the list, they will be placed into one of three bands – gold, silver or bronze. Following this they can click a button to express an interest in the property that suits them and the applicant in the highest band who has been on the list the longest will be offered the property.
Sue Rowley, Managing Director at SSHA explains how it works: “In the past, people looking for affordable homes to rent with a housing association had limited choice over where they moved to or when a move was right for them. The purpose of My Homefinder is to give our potential customers more information to find the right home and community to meet their needs. They will be able to take an active role in looking for a home at a time that suits them, rather than wait to be allocated a home.”
The My Homefinder website was launched on Wednesday 13th May with adverts updated weekly on Wednesdays.
