Housing Association Promotes Best Kept Village Competition

SSHA is proudly sponsoring this year’s Staffordshire Best Kept Village competition in the South Staffordshire district.

SSHA Managing Director Sue Rowley says: "This competition actively promotes positive action within our neighbourhoods. We are pleased to be sponsors and we will be encouraging residents of our properties to make a difference to their community by participating in this event."

The competition has been staged by The Community Council of Staffordshire for 54 years. Chief Executive Chris Welch says: "The competition encourages people of all ages – children included – to take an interest in their surroundings. SSHA has donated £2,000 towards the competition; we are delighted that they are on board."

The villages taking part this year from the South Staffordshire district are Bishops Wood, Brewood, Coven, Coven Heath, Featherstone, Lapley, Pattingham, Stretton, Wheaton Aston, Wombourne, Trysull and Seisdon.

Last year's South Staffordshire winners were Coven and Bishops Wood.
