Local woman promotes residents interests

Codsall’s own Barbara Cooper has been elected Chair of the South Staffordshire Housing Association (SSHA) Tenants’ Partnership.

Barbara is well known in her neighbourhood. She has served in the Auxillary Fire Service and is active in tenant participation.

She says: “I think it is really important to give something to the community you belong to. Where would we be if no-one cared about anything? Joining the Tenant Partnership was a life changing experience for me. When you are involved in making decisions, it’s exciting to see the outcome.”Director of neighbourhood services, Adrian Eggington, said: “The Tenant Partnership help us shape the policy and services of the organisation. It is really important. We are delighted that the residents have chosen Barbara as Chair. She has been involved in the Association for six years and always worked tirelessly to promote residents’ interests. I know she will do everyone proud.”

The post became vacant after Cecilia Smith sadly passed away earlier this year
