South Staffordshire Housing Association has today confirmed that it has been given planning permission to build 66 high quality independent apartments with flexible care and a further 30 much needed affordable homes in Essington.
The announcement follows the launch of a rescue plan by the organisation in November of last year that saw additional funding of £7million invested into the former Park House site by the Homes and Communities Agency.
Speaking on behalf of South Staffordshire Housing Association, director of business development Ursula Bennion said: “We are delighted to have been granted planning permission for these much needed homes. Following feedback from the local community and a local housing needs survey we know that there is a need for affordable housing in Essington so we are really pleased that we can now go ahead and build homes for both rent and shared ownership for local people.”
Work is due to start on site shortly and is likely to be completed by March 2011. For more information about the homes, call SSHA on 0800 096 8690
