Flooding in South Staffordshire – Thursday, June 28, 2012 – 1.20pm

We are experiencing a high volume of calls from customers affected by flash floods in South Staffordshire today (June 28).

Our staff are working to full capacity to assist the worst affected residents but we are advised that further rain is expected and this will inevitably delay any clean-up operations by ourselves or the emergency services.

South Staffordshire Fire and Rescue are prioritising those households most severely affected, and we are working with the local authority to provide assistance wherever we can to our residents.

Please bear with us during this extremely difficult time and take all possible precautions to protect your home and belongings by moving valuables upstairs if you can, and try to avoid water coming into contact with live electrical appliances.

We will issue further bulletins as we have updates available but please rest assured that we are treating this situation as an urgent priority.
